History of st.thomas

St.thomas English medium school was established by Carmelites of mary Immaculate (C M I) congregation fathers of Mysuru province CMI congregation is an indigenous Catholic religious congregation established by st.Kuriakuse elias chavare.St.Thomas English medium school is owned and managed by st.Thomas education society Mysuru.

It is a Christian minority institution with all the rights and privileges granted by the constitution of India. The school is an Unaided institution recognized by the Department of Education , Karnataka. It is Managed by the fathers of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C M I).

              St.Thomas School was started in the year 1968 in a small village called Athur  with a  Strength of 11 students. Rev. Fr. Barnabas who was a visionary took initial steps for startiy the school. The school was shiftiest to the present location in the year 1969.The high school  was started in the year 2000 by Rev.Fr.George kalambukkatt.

Our Motto  “Spread the light ” is at the heart of everything we do at the school. We aim to not just impart knowledge to the students but also inculcate in them wisdom, compassion and humanitarian spirit. We have a multi-cultural students Population, hence we teach children the importance of tolerance and respecting each other’s culture. Discipline, values and integrity are the very foundation of this school.

Our Mission is to develop this school and the students with integrity and values, also to give our students the best opportunities and the best all-round education.
